Actoplus Met (Pioglitazone/Metformin), What is it?
Actoplus Met is a combination that consists of two oral diabetes medicines that aid in the control of blood sugar levels. Actoplus Met is designed to be used in people who have type 2 diabetes and who don't use daily insulin injections.
Actoplus Met is not a medication that should be used for type 1 diabetes.
Make sure you talk with your healthcare provider before taking Actoplus Met. If you overdose obtain medical attention right away. If a dose is missed take it right away, unless it is almost time for your next dose. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose.

Are There Any Possible Side Effects for Actoplus Met (Pioglitazone/Metformin)?
Get Medical Help If You Experience Any Of The Following:
- weakness, increasing sleepiness, slow heart rate, cold feeling, muscle pain, shortness of breath, stomach pain, feeling light-headed, and fainting.
- Stop using Actoplus Met and get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
- feeling short of breath, even with mild exertion;
- swelling or rapid weight gain; or
- nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).
Less serious side effects include:
- sneezing, runny nose, cough or other signs of a cold;
- dizziness;
- headache;
- mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain; or
- joint or muscle pain.
