Description

Generic Name: efinaconazole

Indications

Jublia is a topical prescription solution indicated to treat a fungal infection in the toenails known as onychomycosis. This infection is caused by Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.

Jublia Dosage

Jublia Mechanism of Action

This topical solution inhibits fungal lanosterol 14 alpha-demethylase that is involved in ergosterol biosynthesis. It stops the growth of bacteria through this action.

How to Use Jublia

Before you start using Jublia, it is necessary to read the information leaflet or medication guide given by a healthcare professional. You must not use any medication unless you have understood the uses and directions. For more medical advice or information, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Before you use this solution, clean and dry the area properly. This must be applied at least 10 minutes after washing or taking a bath. With the brush provided, apply the topical solution to your infected toenails. Ensure to cover the entire area, including the toenails, toenail folds, toenail bed or the hyponychium, and the undersurface of your toenail. Wash your hands properly right after application.

Make a dosing schedule. Do not increase or decrease your Jublia dosage. You should not also take this oral drug more frequently than advised.

Any indicators of major allergic reactions, such as problems breathing, swelling of the face and neck, severe dizziness, swollen lymph nodes, hives/itchiness, and skin rashes, should always be kept in mind. Stop using this oral medication and seek emergency medical treatment right away if this happens.

This medication may be contraindicated for people with a history of diabetes or recent infections. Also, due to possible drug interactions, you should discuss all the prescription medications, nonprescription medications, supplements, and herbal products you are taking.

When applying this topical solution, avoid getting it on other areas of the body. If it accidentally gets into any area, washes it with running water immediately. Do not apply this cream near any heat source or in an open flame, for this product can catch fire.
