Anoro Ellipta Indications
Anoro Ellipta is an oral prescription inhalation used as maintenance treatment for airway obstruction among COPD / chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients, which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It helps prevent and control breathing problems, including wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath. This is not indicated for asthma and acute bronchospasm.
This is available in Anoro Ellipta 62.5-25 mcg inh.
Anoro Ellipta Mechanism of Action
This inhalation powder has two actions. First, the umeclidinium component inhibits the M3 receptor at the bronchial smooth muscle, which results in bronchodilation. Second, it stimulates intracellular adenyl cyclase, which converts adenosine triphosphate to cyclic adenosine monophosphate. Increased levels of cyclic AMP can result in bronchial smooth muscle relaxation and inhibition of the release of immediate hypersensitivity mediators.
