Eczema (Dermatitis) shows up in dry, red, itchy patches which sometimes “bubble”. Usually it occurs on the face, inside of elbows and knees, and neck. Eczema can be caused by excess sweating, certain chemicals in pools, or certain athletic fabrics.

Plantar Wart’s
Plantar warts are skin colored lumps that usually occur on the heels or balls of feet. These warts may be rough to touch and may have a black dot at the center.
Plantar warts are contagious and can be picked up at public pools, locker rooms, or gyms. Exercise can increase the pain of a plantar wart because it is on the bottom of the foot. Try to minimize pressure when exercising by using a corn pad around the wart. Warts can be frozen off by doctors with liquid nitrogen – this is the fastest way to heal a wart. Other methods include over-the-counter topical ointment products and personal “freezing” kits. Always wear shoes at the gym and sandals in locker rooms to prevent developing a plantar wart. Moisturize your feet to keep skin sealed.
